Born in a small town at Rahang, Seremban on 28th December 1984, this is where Sheezay (real name Shevanraj Yogaraja) began the first crucial steps in his rise to fame.

As a sheltered mother’s son, Shevan always exhibited a special quality for music, performing at every family functions, school and stage shows at the tender age of 8, with no prior music background.

Every star has to begin somewhere and for Sheezay that time came in 2006 where he was introduced to rap music by a friend. In the following year, Shevan started pursuing his interest aggressively by delving into hip hop and rap music. Additionally, Shevan made sure his music was personal to him by penning down the lyrics of each song himself. Besides, Shevan ensured the creativity of his lyris were not compromised and took great steps to deliver his message in a creative and fashionable manner. Shevan’s world changed forever through a fateful meeting with Dr Burn who immediately recognized his talent and potential. His big musical break came courtesy of Dr Burn who offered him the opportunity to record his first single titled ‘Vaigasi Maasam’ with fellow aspiring star, Stylomannavan in Dr Burn’s compilation album, Zurazamhaaram. This eventually led to the recording of another track titled, Ennoda Vaadi, in the same album.

The creative flair of Stylomanavan and Shevan led to the formation of D.I.W.A.N, which stands for one in Tamil and passion in Hindi. The group’s formation was in sync with the introduction to Kartelhitmen Records through MC Switch. In Early October 2009, the duo released their album named Paarthu [Watchout]. The album can be considered as a massive hit and brought immediate limelight to both Shevan and Stylomannavan. The song Aarambam and Vaanmanthi were chart toppers and becoming the soundtrack of the year for many music lovers. The following year, 2010, Diwan was in the nominees for AIM AWARDS for the best Malaysian Indian Album. After the huge success of DIWAN, both Stylomannavan and ShevanRaj decided to take a break while pursuing solo projects. This saw the start of Sheezay.

In late 2010, Shezzay became a part of Psycho. Unit. His first track from his much awaited Kambathu Rapper album ‘Kambathu Disco’ was featured in the 2011 compilation album, Rabbit and Friendz. This track proved to be an infectious hit among the younger generation Sheezay collaborated with many artists and delivered hit numbers such as Confusion, Unakkaga and Railu Vandi.  His Kambathu Rapper album which was released in Thaipusam 2012 was well-received by the community.
